He has no issue with traversing through the dark as it is, but it was practically pleasant to walk through the dry grass back to the mirror under such calm light. It's different than when the light stops reaching into the depths of the ocean, leading to nothing more than the faint occasional wisp of bioluminescence from a sea creature.
