Maybe he should have been aiming higher, seeking out bigger, more dangerous game? He supposes hunting something more apt to potentially kill him would have shown some bravery. What about cunning, though? Stalking clearly wasn't enough to display something like that. He's pretty good at potionology, would that have counted as being cunning?
