"So big--! What.....?" Rook simply stares in disbelief for a moment, frozen and wide-eyed at the sight of the fins slicing through the surface of the water. The fins alone are bad enough, but the shadow disturbing the water..... it looks enormous.

What is it? Why is it all the way out here, so close to shore? Shouldn't it be beached in a place like this? How could it be so close to the kingdom when he's never heard of any such monsters making these waters their territory? What is he supposed to do about this? They can't get any ships in this cove without resigning themselves to them being destroyed. Any soldiers would be at a severe disadvantage, trying to fight in such cluttered and cramped quarters. The creature would probably simply abandon its lair and find another safe haven nearby, if they tried to destroy these ruins, or clear them out to make a battle easier. Arrows, maybe.....?

Maybe he's overthinking things. Maybe..... maybe this doesn't have to be dealt with just yet. Surely if he can just..... watch it for a little while, see what it does and why, he can come to an easier solution. Rook dusts off what seems to be the remains of a wall, taking a seat to watch Jade circle in silent contemplation.
