"Is it praise? I had thought my interest in you was fairly obvious." He hasn't told Rook to stop showing up at the Lounge nor to leave him alone when he is on his walks through the mountains. Even if the Savanaclaw man doesn't always approach him, Jade can still feel him nearby on occasion. He isn't so blind as to think that Rook isn't there on purpose... he just can't fathom why when his brother so clearly gives him everything he needs or could want.

"Although, I--" He pauses as his gaze shifts at the sound of a step in the grass that isn't their own. Another student? An animal, maybe? Perhaps one drawn in by the scent of food in his bag or even his own body? It must be a scent that the savannah is unfamiliar with.
